The greatest library

The greatest library

These books aren’t ordinary books, they just won't sit still. Some fly others gallop, but no-one believes in the greatest library, do you believe in the greatest library?

The library is full of magic and when the books are opened the ink comes out into dust and glitter and the sometimes rainbows shoot out of the pages as if they were rockets shooting into the sky.

I read my book in a chair a big blue chair that rocks back and forth, I turn on my lamp and start to read. I pull myself into the book and wait till im in, but once im in it is a nightmare to get back out.

The characters, they try to make me stay. They don’t want me to leave, so they change the book so that I can play one of the rolls.

It is about a boy named August and he has Treacher Collins Syndrome, which means he isn't like everyone else he is different to most people you know or you see walking down the street.

I have been learning how make our own tongue twisters and to make one you will need to choose a letter and use it multiple times and try to make it hard to say. They are made not just for fun bu to help you pronounce your words clearly. They don't need to make sense at all, so my ones don't.

My story

“ What are you doing in my front lawn?” Asked Amy puzzled.

“I'm here to move your tree.” Yelled the man in the blue shirt.

What was he doing, though Amy did I order a truck thing to move my truck. She watched carefully to see what it was doing. It dug under the tree and lifted the tree and the claw popped back into its socket.

Amy was impressed and wondered how that happened

“Ummm Mr how does this work?” Amy asked requesting a non sarcastic answer.

“Well it works like this 1. It digs under your tree 2. It ended up on the tree 3”

“I GET IT!!” Screamed amy

“Okay then and one other thing is that if the person who wants your tree lives under a bridge then….. YOU ARE DOOMED Just saying you can hire one but… you need a licence”

So the guy walked off

So this is how it works

1. It digs under the tree and lifts it up
2. Moves the tree to another place
3. You need to dig a hole
4. Then you plop the tree into the hole
5. And wallah!             

What it looks like

It is a truck with a claw in the front of it and the claw comes out to grab the tree. The claw is made out of stainless steel. And you could get a licence for one so that you can use one yourself.

How does it move?

It is like an ordinary truck but it holds the tree in the front but in the top.

How does it help?

It helps the air and you can buy a cheap half grown tree and you won't need to buy a tiny expensive tree and it won't take as much time to grow.

Birthday party

First of all we were at kmart half an hour before the party we didn't know what to buy a three year old girl for a birthday secondly we ate butter chicken ( I don't know why )  So we were full to the brim.

The party was starting we were late we gave Holly ( birthday girl ) her presents and she liked the tea party set.

Yay cake yum I thought to myself as I tried not to stuff my face with the cake it was homemade and was in the shape of a butterfly with maltesers all over it and nice creamy vanilla flavored icing.

Wait there's another cake an ice cream cake But… But… But… i'm stuffed already.

Okay then i’ll have some. IT WAS THE SAME SIZE AS A TRIPLE SCOOP ICE CREAM!!!! But I ate it all, with no doubt in at least two minutes!!

Shark VS Octopus

Did you know that in America there is an aquarium that keeps Sharks and Octopuses in the same tank? Some people would think that sharks would feed on the octopus.

The Octopus can camouflage and squeeze into small gaps. But then a Shark comes over and spots the Octopus. The Octopus grabs onto the Shark with its long tentacles and gets a good grip.The Shark wiggles and squirms trying to escape but can't. The Shark needs to move for the water to go through its gills, so it dies. The Octopus kills the Shark.

Did you ever think that an Octopus would be able to kill a shark? Well now you know.

I have been working on this picture and  trying to turn it into a drawing it took me a while to do it and i'm pretty happy about what it looked like. It was very hard to do all the parts on the face but I got there in the end.

This term was amazing we did art buddy class work on computers and much much more!We have done extra art because of the art exhibition; what did we make you ask? Well we made manu tukutuku and manu taratahi out of toi toi, bamboo and cloth to go over top of our work with a design on it, we also did chalk drawings on the court.  For my actual learning I have learnt a lot more things that I didn't know. This term was the best term by far.

What is an earthquake

What is an earthquake?

An earthquake is when two pieces of the earth suddenly slip past one another, the surface where they slip is called a fault place.

An earthquake can have foreshocks and aftershocks. A foreshock is a small shock that happens before the main earthquake.An aftershock is a small shock that occurs after the big earthquake.

The earth has four major layers:

Inner core, Outer core, Mantle and Crust

The tectonic plates are pieces of land that rub together and when they rub they vibrate and that causes an earthquake.

So an earthquake is caused when the tectonic plates rub violently together.

Painted drains

From robots to turtles or even the world, our school drains a filled with color they brighten up the school.

They have been very creative with the colors and the designs(like: pokemon, worlds,people, robots Etc).

In total there are 25 drains around the whole entire school and they have all been painted.

Mural

The mural has so much detail on it like the waikato river and all the taniwhas.

It shows the main parts of hamilton like the Riff Raff and the river of Hamilton and a lot more places that make Hamilton special.

Did you know that the school is drawn on the mural?

I like that Pippa (our principal) is standing in the middle of the gate-way.

We have been learning how to use a picture and write about it.

Walking to school in the icy snow is quite a challenge for us; Dads are carrying our packs for us and the older kids have to carry their own pack for the whole 3.4km. Im starting to  get scared. Im lucky I don’t need to carry my own pack ‘cuz im too young i'm 9 years old on my tenth birthday i’ll regret wanting to grow up. My dads pack is 19.7kg i’m 20kg I can’t even carry that. But this is the big question: What if we fall down a crack? Who will save us...

Scrambling up the ladder, 3 go up at once, the ladders are not stable. We scramble up the ladders trying not to be late for class. Each ladder is over 3m high. “How are we supposed to climb up?” I say to myself. “This is my first try everyone else has been doing this for years” I say again to myself
